We Are Moving!

I alluded to some big news in my last post and here it is….. we are moving! To Baltimore! I am….. let’s see….. excited, stressed, happy, anxious, exhilarated….. basically, all the emotions.

The George Peabody Library.

For a couple of years now, we had been throwing around the idea of moving to the D.C. area, mainly to be closer to family. So when a new job opportunity for my husband came up in Baltimore, we decided to go ahead and make the move and once the decision was made, everything happened super fast….. like lightning speed fast! That seems to be how things always go for us.

I hadn’t been to Baltimore much as an adult but I actually grew up visiting it occasionally. I always remembered its gorgeous architecture (see above), pretty waterside setting, rich history….. I also always thought it was one of the most underrated cities in America and if you know me, you know I love an underdog. (As an aside, I predict all of this is about change and I think the New York Times thinks so too.)

So the most important question you probably have is where are we going to live. Of course, that is the question foremost in mind too! We’ve been house hunting like mad but haven’t been able to finalize anything yet.

What I can tell you is that Baltimore has the most beautiful historic rowhouses – the stuff of my dreams – so you can bet I am not going to pass up the opportunity to live in one! As soon as we find the one, you, dear blog readers, will be the first to know.

In the meantime, I’ll be on Instagram @FromTheRightBank with snippets from Charm City (did you know that’s Baltimore’s nickname?) and also from the farm. In case you were wondering, we’ll actually be closer now so we’ll be spending more time there. Bonus!

So, onward to the the next chapter of FTRB! I hope you’ll enjoy following along on this next adventure!

  1. So exciting! Can’t wait to watch you transform your new home – and see more of “the farm.” Congrats and good luck on finding the perfect row house.

      1. Sorry, that I’m only replying now! No, they sold the house after they retired from working on Capitol Hill. They moved to another state to be closer to their child/grandchildren.

They bought their house back in the early 90s and the area was intense.

  2. Aww, we recently moved FROM that area! And Walters(!) you’re going to love Walters. It’s so quirky with so many hidden gems…just like all of Baltimore.
