I have some exciting news today. We just set the date for the magazine shoot! (It’s going to be in one month! Eeek!) So I really need to get cracking on that punch list! I should say that what is on that list is not just for the shoot; they are things I’ve been wanting to do to finish up the house anyway but for one reason or another, I’ve been dragging my feet. Well, now I have the motivation to really get on with it!
A priority item on the list is new stools for the kitchen island. My favorite stools for at least the past year or so have been the Wyndham Swivel stools from Arteriors (above) and I’ve been close to ordering them a few times. But each time I stopped myself because I hated the thought of passing up a chance to bring in some pattern or color with something upholstered like these…..
I adore this but I have so many Parsons style furniture with upholstered legs that I need to refrain! So I would have to go with something more like these…..
or these but in a different fabric…..
But even in a brighter color or pattern, I think they will feel a little too traditional for me.
I would love to find something Scandinavian like these but upholstered…..
I think I love this style the most in the upholstered category…..
These are photos from two different restaurants (one in the UK and one in Australia) and I’m not sure of the source. Does anyone know?
There is this one from Wisteria that reminds me a little of these…..
But I don’t think I want that much brass.
Here is another one I find really interesting but its source is also a mystery…..
They look familiar but I can’t remember where they are from. Again, if you know, please share in the comments.
I’ve also always been a big fan of the Elkins loop style chairs forever and they work well as stools…..
As much as I love them, I think they’re a little busy for my kitchen.
What would fit better with the style in there would be the wishbone…..
In the end, I think it will be between these or the Arteriors ones (at the beginning of the post). I’m leaning toward these because the backs and woven seats will be more comfortable. I could also add some seat cushions if I really want to bring in some color or pattern. The sheepskin for winter is also always a good idea.
It is always so helpful to think out loud like this when making decisions so thanks for listening! And I have more decisions to make so I’ll be back here soon to talk through those too….. Have a great week!
